Why do I need renter’s insurance, and what does PMI Midwest’s resident liability program cover?
Accidents can happen in any rental—whether it’s a house, condo, duplex, or apartment. Renter’s insurance provides important protection for you and the property in case of unexpected events. PMI Midwest requires all tenants to carry renter’s insurance, either through your own provider or by enrolling in our resident liability program.
Through our partnership with Stern Risk Partners LLC, you can be covered for $100,000 in liability for only $14.95 per month, conveniently added to your rent. This coverage protects against fire, smoke, explosion, water damage from negligence, and sewer or sump backup. Please note, this policy does not cover personal belongings—you would need separate coverage for that.
If an accident occurs, simply submit a work order or contact our office. We’ll guide you through the process, file the claim on your behalf, and handle the details so you’re not left on your own.

Guarantors makes moving in more affordable by letting you pay 25–50% less than a traditional deposit. It also offers rent coverage for up to three months, acting like a co-signer if unexpected financial challenges come up—all with a simple approval process.
